The Tigers enjoyed preparing for Christmas in many ways.  We had a surprise "Gift-Giving" for the volunteers of Pack 523 during Pack Night.  We hoped to let the leaders know that we appreciate all of their time and efforts.  I was told that the one-of-a-kind "Craig Yambor Potholder Gift Set" was the best!

Next, the Tigers celebrated at the Heffner house by making Pinecone Birdfeeders for our feathered friends and wrapping Holiday Recipe books for the moms we love.  We rounded the evening out with some games of Mrs. Claus Says, exchanging cookies and drinking hot chocolate with candy canes.  Yummy! (Special thanks to Jane D. for providing many of the supplies and all her help, Cindy and Douglas for hosting the birdfeeder project and all the other Tiger parents that made that evening a success!)

During January, we will be getting ready for the annual Blue and Gold Banquet by making our centerpieces and practicing our skit.  Wait till you see those Tigers - they are so talented!  Tigers Roar!

The Wolves rounded out November by joining the Tigers on another "Go See It" to the Amity Fire Station where they learned about fire prevention and safety. They really enjoyed checking out the trucks, equipment and learning to be cool under pressure in the smoke house.

For all the meetings in December they got to explore their creative side in a variety of ways. During a session with guest artist Jean Esther from Art Corner they learned basic drawing skills, shading and blending of colors. They then produced a full scale background of a park. In the following session the Wolves planned and practiced a skit that incorporated their new background and self-made paper bag masks.

Finally, thanks to help from all the parent volunteers, the Wolves learned about a wide variety of tools and assembled their own bird feeder. They left prepared to spend the holidays feeding the birds, checking off more birding electives and looking forward to more adventures next year.

The Webelo II's have been busy working toward earning the highest award  in Cub Scouts, the Arrow of Light.  We have several pins that need one or two more requirements to completed. We enjoyed working with the Scout Troop making cider, but we now have several scouts who swore off drinking apple cider.  We are planning a field trip to the planetarium to earn the Science Belt Loop.  We are looking forward to preforming our skit at the Pack Meeting and sharing our talent.

This year in remembrance of the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy the pack celebrated "American Heroes" while participating in Bally and Boyertown Halloween parades.  The cubs dressed as doctors, policemen, servicemen, firefighters, sports figures and others to help remind us of the everyday people that make such a big difference in our lives and the freedoms we enjoy.    The pack took home 3rd place honors in both parades.

The Webelos I Den has been working very hard on the Citizen achievement pin.  On Tuesday November 8th the Webelos I's learned how to properly retire the Flag of the United States.  Each Webelos and their parent participated in the proper disassembly of the flag and then the respectful burning of the Red, White and Blue portions of the Flag.

Three Flags were retired including two from our Charter Organization, Pine Forge Elementary School.

Thanks to Keely and Barb Grim for hosting the event and for ordering the wonderful weather that evening!
